Oreo Cookies 'As Addictive As Cocaine' And Lab Rats, Like Humans, Eat The Middle First! Wow Wtf?

According to a study done by Connecticut College students, Oreo cookies have addictive qualities that rival morphine or cocaine.

Professor Joseph Schroeder and his students tested the theory on lab rats and found that they formed a strong association with the cookies - a reaction similar to rats injected with cocaine or morphine.

These guys took a bunch of lab rats and fed them Oreos. The lab rats formed a strong association with America's favorite cookie. This reaction was almost identical to the rats injected with morphine and cocaine (Poor little babies :[ ).

I Google'd "A rat shooting up" and found this beautiful picture

They also found that eating Oreos tickled the pleasure center of the brain even more than exposure to DRUGS. This study was conducted to expose the addictiveness of high fat and sugary foods like spending a day in america doesn't already do that.

"It may explain why some people can't resist these foods even though they are bad for them" Professor Schroeder said.

Same search results LMFAO

The test was conducted by placing a rice cake on one side of a maze and an Oreo on the other, then recording how long the rat would spend time on either side. The group compared these results with the results of another test that did the same biz only with morphine injections and saline injections

The results showed that the rats hung around the Morphine just as much as the Oreos.

I feel a great sense of relief that it's not my fault I ate an entire package of these last week *phew*

Here's a Fun Fact; The rats also ate the Oreos just like you and i do, breaking apart the cookies and going for the cream!

The Secret Life of Plants

The Secret Life Of Plants is a really good documentary I came across awhile back.  I'm not sure what made me think of it but I now have a strong urge to share it! This documentary explores "The physical, emotional and spiritual relations between plants and man" it offers a really different perspective on the topic of plant sentience. Yes plant sentience. Sounds crazy but, you'll definitely learn something new!

A book of the same name is on scribd. I actually didn't know this until probably two seconds ago when I looked it up again. Here's the link if you're like me and now need to do some additional reading!

German Groom Forgets Bride At Gas Station

A German couple's marriage got off to a rocky start when the groom forgot his bride at a highway gas station on the way home from their honeymoon, only noticing she was missing after hours had passed.

Police said Friday the couple was heading home to Berlin from France when the man pulled over at a gas station to fill up their van.
The woman had been sleeping in the back but had to tinkle and went to use the restroom. The groom --somehow unaware-- drove off and left her.

pretty sure my wife's here I'm good to go!

.
It took this guy 2 1/2 hours of driving to notice his new bride to be...wasn't in the van!! He called the police eventually and returned to his patiently waiting wife.

Have You Ever Seen Anything Like This? What Did Ancient People Encounter To Make Statues Like This?

Temehea Tohua is the largest of the Marquesas islands in French Polynesia. This unique island is home to some of the strangest statues is existence. Several of these statues seem to represent beings that don't exactly fit in the animal kingdom. What the heck are these things? Perhaps it was just something from the Artists' imagination...

At first glance they seem just seem like “big old statues” but look a little closer and odd details are revealed; Big eyes, large elongated heads, small bodies/huge bodies, and other weird features that really make you wonder what drugs could have inspired the artist to carve such non-human features?

Nuku Hiva is a large island apart of the Marquesas Islands in French Polynesia.
Nuku Hiva was also the site for Survivor: Marquesas, the fourth installment of the popular CBS reality television show in the US.

7 Unbelievable Natural Eternal Flames From Around the World

Of the thousands of eternal flames across the globe, most are man-made, created either for religious reasons or to honor history's famous, such as Virginia's John F. Kennedy Memorial. But eternal flames that occur naturally are harder to come by.
Often ignited by lightning or humans, these flames need to live in a specific environment where the gas source isn't at risk of being burnt away or destroyed. Here's a look at a few fascinating and lesser known natural eternal flames around the world, some of which have been burning for centuries.

Edward Smith, Man Who Has Had Sex With 999 Cars, Ready To Commit To VW Beetle (VIDEO)

Edward Smith's love life has been in overdrive for the last 48 years.
By his count, he's had more than 1,000 sex partners -- but only one of those was actually human.
Smith, 63, is a "mechaphile," the term for someone sexually attracted to planes, trains and automobiles.
Oh, and helicopters too. He once had a quickie with a copter used in the TV series "Airwolf."
"Some guys look at boobs and bums on beautiful women. I look at the front and rear on beautiful cars," he said, according to the Mirror.

I guess the "Different strokes for different folks" saying is true!

A Fossilized Blood-Engorged Mosquito Is Found For the First Time Ever

In the 20 years since the movie Jurassic Park fantasized about how a vast array of dinosaurs could be cloned from blood found in ancient amber-trapped mosquitoes, fossil collectors have been on the hunt for a similar specimen. Over the years, a few different groups of scientists have claimed to find a fossilized mosquito with ancient blood trapped in its abdomen, but each of these teams’ discoveries, in turn, turned out to be the result of error or contamination.

Today, it was announced that we finally have such a specimen, a blood-engorged mosquito that’s been preserved in shale rock for around 46 million years in northwestern Montana. The most astounding thing about the discovery? It was made three decades ago by an amateur fossil hunter—a geology graduate student named Kurt Constenius—then left to sit in a basement, and only recognized recently by a retired biochemist named Dale Greenwalt who’s been working to collect fossils in the Western U.S. for the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History...
